IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR INCOMING STUDENT-ATHLETES
What do you need to do to register for classes?
The first three steps needed to complete matriculation and be able to register at OCC are:
1. Apply to Orange Coast College
2. Complete Math and English placement tests
3. Attend orientation
STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE ALL THREE STEPS TO BE ABLE TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES!
NOTE: If you have already completed coursework at another college, you will need to submit OFFICIAL (sealed in an envelope) transcripts as soon as possible for verification of course equivalencies. These are needed for accurate student education planning.
Where do you apply?
Go to the admissions office. There is no cost and the time needed to fill out an application is only a few minutes.
The other option is to apply online: http://www.orangecoastcollege.edu
How and when should you sign up for the English and math placement tests?
Call 714-432-5789 to sign up for the tests. English and math placement tests should be completed BEFORE attending an orientation.
How do you sign up for an Orientation?
You may choose to attend a general population orientation, a SOAR orientation, or an Athlete Orientation. Attendance at any orientation will clear step #3 of the matriculation process. The Athlete Orientation will be different only insofar as some special student-athlete issues and eligibility rules will be discussed.
Call 714-432-5078 or go to the front desk of the Counseling Division to sign up for a general or SOAR orientation.
Student-athletes must call or see Judi Lagerlof (Matriculation Office) directly to sign up for Athlete Orientations. Her phone number is 714-432-5696.
