Self-paced courses cover the same material as the equivalent lecture class. However, in a self-paced class, you study independently in the Math Center a specified number of hours per week. You take tests according to a schedule, approximately once every one to three weeks. Learning resources include instructors, tutors, video lectures, computer tutorials, pre-tests, and a tutoring counter. This format requires a great amount of self-discipline, motivation, and commitment. It is possible work faster (if you take an exam every week or so), or take almost two semesters for a single class (if you take exams every two to three weeks). Students with insufficient progress or inadequate attendance are periodically dropped. If you receive a postcard warning of a problem, you will need to come in to the Math Center in person to discuss the matter if you don't wish to be dropped.
The following courses are offered as self-paced courses, in addition to be offering in standard lecture format. You can also see mathematics course descriptions or recommended sequences for mathematics courses.
