Community college athletes are limited to a maximum of two years of college competition in any one sport. Previous competition at another community college or college/university will count towards the two seasons maximum requirement.

First-year players -- To be eligible to participate on the men's soccer team, the student-athlete must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units and attend those classes at the beginning and throughout the fall semester (season of competition). Dropping below 12 units during the season will deem that athlete ineligible and will prohibit him from further competition.

Second-year players -- To play a second season on the soccer team, the student-athlete must have completed a minimum of 24 units, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0, since his last semester of competition in soccer.

Transfer students -- Players who have attended another college or university will need to have a copy of their transcript from that school. If transferring from another California community college where he played soccer, that student-athlete must complete at least 12 units at OCC with a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Professionals -- Players who have played professional soccer (were paid money to play on a team) are prohibited from playing community college soccer.

Club soccer -- We encourage you to play club soccer EXCEPT during the OCC season during the fall. It is against California community college soccer rules for players to play on a club team or any other non-OCC team during the soccer season.
