Dance Faculty Biographies

Christine Baltes, born in Chicago, Ill., has training in ballet, modern and tap. A master teacher in the Giordano technique, she has studied with and been influenced by such greats as Matt Mattox, Luigi, Margaret Craske, and Ted Shawn giving her something unique to offer her southern Californian students. Christine teaches for universities, professional studios and more. Her students are taking dance careers in all areas of teaching, performing and choreography both nationally and internationally, working for such artists as Usher, Britney Spears, Smokey Robinson, Brian McKnight and performing in national tours of 42nd Street, The King and I, and Fame to name a few. Christine is Artistic Director of Jazz Spectrum Dance Company and has produced, directed, participated in and founded various dance festivals in the greater Los Angeles area. She has been a contributing writer for the Dance and Fitness West magazine and serves as a board member for the Jazz Dance World Congress and Jazz Dance L.A.
