All students intending to major in Marine Science are required to complete MS 100 - Oceanography lecture and MS 100L - Oceanography lab our introductory level courses.
We recommend students contact the department coordinator, Professor Dennis Kelly, at some time during their first semester at OCC and identify themselves as prospective majors. A faculty advisor in the Department will be happy to counsel and advise all marine science majors in the class requirements they must meet to transfer to a four-year program.
If the student wishes to complete only two years of College, earn the Associate in Arts Degree in Biology, Geology, or Chemistry for immediate employment as a laboratory research assistant or marine technician, we will be pleased to share our knowledge of existing job opportunities both locally and nationally.
