| Check Your Java Version |
Here is how you can check which version of Java you are running. You will want to do this because you should have the recommended version of Java in order to view your online classroom as your instructor intended.
Follow these steps to verify which version of Java you have installed:
- Click the "Start" menu.
- From this menu, fgo to "Control Panel." (Depending on your computer, you might find "Control Panel" listed under "Settings.")
- Click on the link for "Java" or "Java Plug-In." If you do not see a link for Java, then you need to download it from one of the sites above.
- Click on "About" in the dialog box that opens for Java (you may find this under the "General" tab). This will tell you which version you are currently using.

You can download Java (scroll down until you see the Java icon). Just follow the prompts for downloading and installation.

| Still Having Problems? |
If you have downloaded the recommended version of Java and are still experiencing problems, then you may want to try removing all versions of Java from your system, and reinstalling the recommended version. want to install the recommended version of Java on your system, you need to first uninstall your system's current version. To do this, follow these steps:
- Close any applications or programs you're working in.
- From the "Start" menu, click "Control Panel" (this might be hidden under "Settings.")
- Double-click the icon for "Add of Remove Programs."
- Remove all programs that relate to "Java" or "JRE," then close the "Control Panel" window.
- You should restart your computer after this process.
Now that you have uninstalled your previous, older version of Java, you will want to install the latest. To do this, go to the sites listed in the Download Java section.
