Qualifications for Membership

In determining eligibility, units must be counted beginning with those most recently completed and going back chronologically until the number of units is reached. If any units from a semester (or quarter) are used to establish eligibility, all units in graded courses on that and all intervening transcripts must enter into the calculation of the G.P.A.

Temporary Membership

· Graduated high school in 2011 with a minimum final cumulative GPA for   
  grades 9-12 of 3.50; OR

· Was awarded lifetime membership in the California Scholarship Federation

Initial Membership

· Currently enrolled in at least 6 units of letter-graded college coursework at   
  OCC

· COMPLETED at least 12 units of coursework at OCC with letter grades
  within the past three semesters (Summer/Fall 2010, Spring 2011,    
  Summer/Fall 2011)

· Earned a minimum semester GPA of 3.0 in Fall 2011

· Earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 through Fall 2011

Continuing Membership

· Currently enrolled in at least 6 units of letter-graded college coursework at   
  any 2-year institution

· Was granted Initial Membership in Fall 2011 2011 OR was in an approved
  grace period* for the Fall 2011 semester

· COMPLETED at least 6 units of letter-graded coursework in the Coast  
  Community College District in Fall 2011

· Earned a minimum semester GPA of 3.0 in Fall 2011

· Earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 through Fall 2011

Permanent Membership

    Applicants with cumulative GPAs of 3.50 or higher:

         - Have completed or will complete in the current semester at least
           60 units of college coursework (no more than 6 units with pass/
           fail or credit/no credit grades)

        - At least 30 units of the 60 required units of college coursework 
           have been or will be completed at OCC by the end of the current 
           semester

        - Applicant is now and has been a member of AGS for at least one
           semester

        - Applicant has earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50
           through Fall 2011

    Applicants with cumulative GPAs of 3.25 or higher:

        - Have completed or will complete in the current semester at least 
           60 units of college coursework (no more than 6 units with pass/
           fail or credit/no credit grades)

        - At least 30 of the required 60 units of college coursework have 
           been or will be completed at OCC by the end of the current semester

        - Applicant is now and has been a member of AGS for two or more
           semesters

        - Applicant has earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
           through Fall 2011
