HOW TO ACCESS ELECTRONIC RESOURCES FROM OFF-CAMPUS

Using MyOCC to Access Electronic Resources
Step 1: Log in to MyOCC. For password/login issues, contact technical support.
Step 2: On the Home tab, scroll down to the OCC Library box. Click on Periodicals and Electronic Resources.
Step 3: A new window will appear. The top line should say "Off-Campus Access to Periodicals & Electronic Resources". If it does not, go back to Step 2 and make sure you are clicking on the correct link.
Step 4: Once you are on the correct screen, you should be able to click on any of the links and access the content without logging in again. If you get a log in screen, check the exception list below or go back to Step 1.

Exceptions
- Britannica Online: At the log in screen, type in your student or staff ID in the following format: 1234-5678. Students can find their ID number on their OCC photo ID or registration papers. Faculty and staff can find their ID in MyOCC.
Instructions
- CountryWatch: This database is not available from off-campus. You may access it from any computer on campus.
- Library, Information Science, & Technology Abstracts: This database is not available from off-campus. You may access it from any computer on campus.

Using Blackboard to Access Electronic Resources
If MyOCC is unavailable or you are already in Blackboard, you may log in using this method.
Step 1: Log in to Blackboard as you normally would (Instructions). When MyOCC is down, clicking on the MyOCC link on the college web site will take you directly to Blackboard. Your Blackboard login is the same as your MyOCC login.
Step 2: Go to the My Blackboard tab.
Step 3: Click on OCC Library Databases.
Step 4: A new window will appear. The top line should say "Off-Campus Access to Periodicals & Electronic Resources". If it does not, go back to Step 2 and make sure you are clicking on the correct link.
Step 5: Once you are on the correct screen, you should be able to click on any of the links and access the content without logging in again. If you get a log in screen, check the exception list above or go back to Step 1.
