Volunteer Opportunities

BOOK DRIVE:
· Pick up books from campus receptacles
· Solicit donations of used books from family and neighbors
· Check with local libraries for discards they'd like to donate
· Visit used book stores to ask for their discards
· Help organize a neighborhood canvassing event
· Help organize a campus-wide donation event
· Help sort, scan, and pack donated books

MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT:
· Staff a recruitment table during a break between classes
· Help with a mass mailing
· Make phone calls to qualified candidates for membership
· Visit classrooms to promote PTK membership
· Staff an information table at campus-wide events (Club Rush, Senior Day, Coast
  Days, Honors Open House, etc.)

RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP AND OTHER RECOGNITION OPPORTUNITIES FOR PTK MEMBERS:
· Compile a list of upcoming scholarship opportunities for members
· Prepare a list of scholarships available at popular 4-year transfer schools
· Search the PTK website for recognition opportunities for our members
· Visit the OCC Student Life Office to learn about leadership awards
· Share your findings with the chapter members at a meeting
