Since 1957, Orange Coast College has proudly presented the OCC Math Meet – an annual mathematics competition for local high school students. This friendly contest offers students the opportunity to win awards and prizes, meet OCC math faculty, and share a meal. (That's right, free food!) It’s a great afternoon for all.
The math meet is held each spring in the Science Hall. Each participating high school sends a team of four students plus alternates and a faculty sponsor. Prizes and awards are given to the top scoring teams and individuals. The questions are generic math questions which rely more on general mathematical thinking rather than specific curriculum topics.
