TRYOUTS
OPEN FALL TRYOUTS – 2nd Week of August
To try out, you must register for the tryout class -- PE 129AD, and bring proof of enrollment with you on the first day of tryouts. You cannot tryout unless you are enrolled in PE 129AD, #30070. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Open tryouts will be held during the second week of August, from 1-3 p.m. at the soccer field. Those who make the roster will be expected to attend every daily practice for the duration of the season. Those unable to make this commitment should not try out for the team. We typically carry between 20-25 players on the roster.
Once you try out for OCC (or any other California community college) you can NOT play at any other California community college this season. Before you try know that you will be "locked in" to the college for which you try out.
Work by You:
1) FITNESS – Summer Soccer is not designed to get you in shape -- do this on your own. The Cooper Test, a timed two-mile run, will be given during the first or second day of tryouts. College-caliber players should complete the two miles in under 12 minutes.
2) BALL SKILLS – College players need to be able to pass and receive the ball with minimum giveaways.
Parking: Free through the first two weeks of the semester, with parking permits required after that. The OCC Soccer Program is NOT responsible for parking tickets.
