To become an ESL student at Orange Coast College, just follow these easy steps:

1. Visit the Office of Admissions and Records and fill out a new student application. (If you're not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, also contact the International Student Center.)
2. After your new student package arrives in the mail, call the Assessment Center to make an appointment for your ESL placement test.
3. Pick up your test results. Your test report will tell you which classes are right for you.

You must complete the assigned lower-level course before taking the higher-level course.  For example, you cannot take ESL 121 and 135 or ESL 125 and 131 at the same time.  See Course and Reading Levels. 4. Register for Classes.
