High School Senior 8-Week Soccer Class
PE 119
Mondays/Wednesdays, 3-5 p.m.
April 6 - May 28
The Men’s Soccer Program offers an 8-week class specifically for high school senior soccer players interested in trying out for OCC’s Men’s Team. Also in the class are players from last year’s team that will be transferring to play at a four-year school along with returning players.
Follow the steps below to enroll in the class:
1. Apply online to OCC www.orangecoastcollege.edu. It’s FREE! Click on “Enrollment Center” followed by “Admissions” followed by “New Students” and then under Step One: Apply for Admission in the first line click on “apply for admission.”
2. As a high school student you must fill out an “ESP” (Early Start Program) form and have your parent or legal guardian along with your principal or counselor sign it. Click HERE to download an ESP form.
3. Take your completed ESP form to Watson Hall at OCC to register for the class. Watson Hall is the four-story glass building between the gym and the bookstore. Take Fairview Road and turn into “Pirate Way.” Every student who takes a class at a California community college is required by statute to pay the $16 Student Health Fee. When you register you will also need to pay the
$15 College Services Charge. But at the first class meeting on April 6th you will receive a fee waiver and your $15 will be reimbursed by mail. So bring $31 in cash or a check when you bring your ESP form to Watson Hall. Remember: YOU WON’T BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER UNLESS YOU HAVE FIRST SUBMITTED YOUR APPLICATION TO OCC (see #1 above).
4. Parking – If you drive a car to class you will need to bring quarters for the parking meters located at the end of the tennis courts. I cannot fix parking tickets and you are responsible for obeying all parking regulations.
5. If you have enrolled in the class prior to April 6th simply show up at the field by 2:45, dressed and ready to play. If you aren’t enrolled by the 6th all you need to do is show up at the field by 2:45 with your ESP form and a blank check or cash and I will walk you up to Watson Hall to get you enrolled.
As a high school senior one of the advantages for taking the 8-week class is that you will receive a higher priority for taking OCC classes in the future than those who don’t take the class. Listed below are the steps you need to take within the next two weeks to register for the 8-week class:
