Pat & Phyllis Texas Hold'em Memorial Fundraising Tournament

OCC Sailing Center
Registration -- 5:30 p.m.; Dinner Buffet-- 5:30 p.m.; Tournament -- 6:30 p.m.
On May 7, 2006, Pat Altobelli, mother of head baseball coach John Altobelli, passed away at her home with her family by her side at the age of 70. Tragically, just two days later, Phyllis Reuber, Coach Alto’s mother-in-law, passed away following surgury to fix a blood clot. She was only 54 years old.
“The day that my mom passed away, I knew I needed to do something for her at the field because she always was there rooting the Pirates on and all of the players loved her. She always complained along with my wife and many others, about the new field not having any bathrooms. So I’m hoping that we can generate enough funds to rebuild a new facility in both Pat and Phyllis’ name for a new bathroom/snack bar which will be located behind home plate at OCC’s new renovated field. With this being an annual event, it's my hope that alumni, friends and supporters of Orange Coast College Baseball will pull together and help us cope with these tragic events and remember the happiness and joy that Pat and Phyllis brought to our lives. With your help and support, you will show that OCC had at least a little impact in your life or your son’s life and you can help make this dream of mine a reality. This facility can help let Pat and Phyllis know they can continue to overlook the field as future Pirates continue to pursue their goals and dreams. I hope you can make this a special event, year in and year out. Please join us for a night of cards, food, beverages and, more important, laughs.”
