IT SEEMS APPROPRIATE that with the termination of the guidance and administration
of Dr. Basil H. Peterson, a history of Orange Coast College during the years of his service
should be compiled and written. The members of the faculty have assumed this responsibility
and the results of their efforts are contained in this publication. This book, the first published
history of Orange Coast College, is off-red as a tribute and a gift to Dr. Basil H. Peterson.
