Fall 2011 Activities Calendar

Announcing our upcoming activities. . .

1. Welcome Back – International Center Open House: Thursday, October 6 from 1:00 – 3:00pm.  The International Center will be hosting an Open House to welcome all new and continuing students to the Fall 2011.  Please stop by our office to meet our staff.  there will be free refreshments. Stop by to see us, sign up for activities and just say "Hi!"
2. Movie Night at the Metro Pointe - The International Center has planned two movie night at Metro Pointe for Friday, October 14 and November 4.  We will meet in front of the theater at 5:30 p.m.  The International Center is sponsoring the tickets for this fun event.  This is a great opportunity for you to enjoy a great movie for FREE.  This event is open to the first 15 international students who sign up.
3. Study, Work, and Travel Abroad Fair - The International Center will host our annual Study, Work, and Travel Abroad Fair on Friday, October 14 from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm, in the quad right in front of Watson Hall building.  many schools and organizations will be represented.  The event is to provide options and assist those students who are interested in studying, working, and traveling abroad.
4. Optional Practical Training Workshop (OPT) – The International Center has scheduled a few OPT workshops throughout the semester. The OPT workshop is scheduled for Friday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 12, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please sign up for the workshop at the International Center. Additional dates will be announced in the newsletter.
5. Balboa Park - San Diego - Saturday, November 19 from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.  Home to 15 major museams, renowed performing arts venues, beautiful gardens and World famous San Diego Zoo, the Park has an ever-changing calendar of museum exhibitions, plays, musicals, concerts, and classes - all in the beautiful and timeless setting of this must-see San Diego attraction.  The International Center will provide free transportation for the first 30 students that sign up for this event.  please stop by the International Center to sign up no later than Wednesday, November 16th.
6. Second 8-Week Courses – Courses are still available for second 8-week. You can register for the second 8-week courses through MyOCC. If you are still looking to add more units, please logon to MyOCC to check for courses availability and register for your courses. Second 8-week will start on 10/24/2011 - 12/18/2011.
