Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Housing

Where can I get information about student housing? The International Center provides information and coordinates several types of housing options on campus, such as rooms for rent, local apartment listings and the Homestay program.
Where can I find information about renting a room? Information on rooms for rent is posted online on the housing boards and on the south wall of the Counseling and Admissions building. Students have access to this board 24 hours a day. The information is updated daily and gives students the opportunity to view and find suitable housing through sharing rooms.
Where can I find an apartment to rent? There are a number of apartment complexes near Orange Coast College and its environs. Rental charges vary according to location, number of bedrooms and facilities in the complex. The International Center annually publishes a free list of rental apartments along with their location, costs, size, deposit amount, etc.
What is the International Student Homestay Program?

The International Student Homestay Program offers the possibility of living with a local host family while attending OCC and is reserved for international students only. In most cases the family will provide you with room and board in exchange for rent. Each student desiring to live with a host family must contact one of the homestay agencies listed on our Housing and Homestay webpage for more information.  This is a great opportunity for international students to practice and improve their English skills, learn more about the American lifestyle, be part of a family and share their culture and language.
