BLACKSMITHING FOR EVERYONE
Presenter: Leland Means
If you would like to experience the fascinating world of blacksmithing for the first time or brush up on existing skills, this hands-on class is for you. Students progress by making ornamental and functional objects of their own design. The basic skills of blacksmithing are covered plus took making and basic heat treating. These skills can be acquired by all, regardless of stature of strength. Ideal for beginners and intermediate smiths with no formal training.

The Business of Bartending – Online

Learn to bartend like a rock star! For the sake of convenience some people would rather take a course of this type in the comfort of their own home, while some prefer to learn without the pressure of having others around. The Business of Bartending online course will teach you everything you need to begin your career. Through email lessons and quizzes, a demonstration video, flash cards and the tools to practice at home you will be free to work at your own pace and have a blast!
This exceptional course will prepare you to work as a bartender in all types of establishments. Professional bartending requires so much more than knowing how to put ice in a glass and adding the proper ingredients. This class will prepare you to be a great salesperson, a customer service expert and an honest and valuable employee, skills that will help you succeed in the real world of bartending and throughout life. The lessons taught are extremely beneficial to managers, waitresses and novice bartenders, also.
The Business of Bartending will leave you with a thorough understanding of how the bar business works, the ethics of serving cocktails and a common sense approach to bartending. Additionally, you will be taught in detail how to practice making cocktails. Other topics included are glassware tools, recipes, pouring the perfect shot, bar terms, wine and champagne service, martinis, laws, job interviews and resumes.
Kellie Nicholson has condensed twenty-five years of experience into a five-hour course that will give you the confidence to step behind a bar anywhere. She has had success currently teaching this class at eleven local colleges and her bartending students are working all over the Los Angeles area. Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate.

Professional Bar Management - Online
Presenter: Kellie Nicholson
This course is a must for those who own a bar, those who want to enter the field of management or for bartenders who want to become an expert on the business. If you are serious about the bar business, this online course will expand your knowledge into areas of management that includes inventory profits, promotions, employees, customer services and staff issues. You will also be trained to become a bartender, the hub of all sales and a requirement for professionally managing a bar. It is not possible to be a good bar manager without knowing everything about bartending.
Managing a bar or restaurant can be an overwhelming experience. The physical, emotional and mental demands are extreme. This class will teach you simple ways to handle difficult situations with unhappy customers and employees, the duties of each employee, and key factors which are vital to a successful business. New bar owners will find the course is a complete guide to understanding the mechanics of each particular job and the skills to lead a loyal and productive team. You will also learn way sot build customer relations and to promote sales for maximum profits.

Mr. Myers, Associate Professor, will conduct a six week ceramics workshop with intermediate to advanced caliber students. The Purpose of this workshop is to allow students to continue to develop a body of work as well as a personal aesthetic.

With the economy the way it is, everyone is trying to save money wherever possible. With eBay you can get the same items you are looking for, but pay less, sometimes for pennies on the dollar. Do you care if someone else owned it first? It may still have the original sealed packaging and original tags attached (NWT = New With Tags). Think of eBay as a giant garage sale - someone else's stuff is your treasure. They received the item as a gift and don't really care for it - now it is your chance to purchase It at a discounted price and they make a few bucks.
