My PC: Getting Started with Windows 7 Workshop

This workshop takes a unique, fun approach to getting hands-on with the new Windows 7 operating system. At a comfortable pace, students will learn how to get around in Windows 7, work with files and file folders, find and use desktop tools and gadgets, and get a sneak peek at the fun things they can do with Windows 7 including photo editing, making slide shows, and keeping in touch with friends and family! This workshop is the first in the new “MY PC” series and is recommended as the primer to the other courses in the series.

MY PC: Creative Slideshows Workshop

Turn your digital photos and videos into a fun movie slideshow! Learn easy ways to create movies with your photos by adding transitions, motion effects, titles, credit and music. Burn a DVD to play on your TV or computer or share with family.

Introduction to Windows 7

This hands-on course takes a unique approach to teaching the skills necessary to navigate and use the Windows 7 operating system efficiently and confidently. Learn to maximize new features to get around, customize the desktop and efficiently store, locate and search for files. Make the most of new tools and programs. Learn PC management essentials and perform basic preventative maintenance to keep your PC up and running smoothly. This course is designed for both home and business users. Prerequisite: basic PC navigation skills.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop for Adults and Teens
Instructor: Cheryl Dimson
This class is set up to introduce and explore many aspects of Adobe Photoshop CS5 in an 8-week session. In this class students will be using computers to get hands-on experience with Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard application for manipulation and drawing of digital bitmapped images. Students will learn about resolution, color adjustment, color modes, filters, image manipulation, layers, transparencies, quick selection tools, clipping paths, type manipulation and much more in a practical hands-on environment. All tutorials will be produced and provided by the instructor and distributed to each student on a 1GB jump drive that students can then use to store and transport their class work. No experience with Photoshop is necessary. This is a fun way to learn about how you can change and improve your photos.
