Welcome to OCC Cross Country!

At a college were state championships are nothing terribly new, the Orange Coast College women's cross country is setting the pace, so to speak, in collecting the state's top honor.
Winners of six of the past seven state championships, the Pirates have accounted for 13 state titles since 1980.
Over the years, Coast has produced some of the top athletes in the state, including numerous Orange Empire Conference, Southern California and State champions.
This past year, freshman standout Crystal Reed set the pace right from the opening meet. In one of the best months any runner could have, Reed captured the Orange Empire Conference title, the Southern California Regional title and the State championship for the Pirates.
In addition to their state hardware, the Pirates have won 22 conference titles (including 12 straight, dating back to 1996) and 13 Southern California Championships (four of the last six).
With the success of the entire team comes several outstanding performances over the years. OCC has produced a number of state champions including Kim Devetis (1982), Heather Shurtleff (2000), Michelle Icban (2002), Ava Jones (2003), Ludi Valdez (2004) and, most recently, Reed (2007).
