Men's Golf: Rough end to magical season for Pirates |

BEAUMONT -- From the "glass is half-empty" perspective, Monday's fifth-place finish at the 2010 CCCAA Men's Golf State Championships was a less-than expected ending to the Orange Coast College men's golf season.
However, from the "glass is half-full" perspective, the fact that the Pirates' golf program became the first OCC golf team to reach the state finals since 1991 and produced a finish that can be topped only by the 1958 state championship team, speaks volumes for what this program has accomplished in 2010.

With a dominating performance from start to finish, the Orange Coast College men's swim team wrapped up its third state title in four years on Saturday at the COA-CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Belmont Plaza.
OCC's men finished with 655 points, an incredible 263 points higher than state runner-up Santa Rosa (392). Ventura (339), Diablo Valley (304) and Golden West (289) round out the top five.

Reed's win was just one piece of championship hardward for the Pirates as they regained the top spot in the state by edging out Glendale 84-86 in the team standings.

Men's Volleyball: Pirates top Corsairs to earn trip to State Championship! |

IRVINE -- For the first time since 2002, the Orange Coast College men's volleyball team will be playing for the state championship, thanks to Thursday night's four-game win over Santa Monica City College in the semifinals of the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships, held at Irvine Valley College.
Led by Kevin Welch's 27 kills, the Pirates topped the Corsairs, 30-25, 31-29, 26-30, 30-20. They will take on defending state champion Irvine Valley on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Irvine Valley College.

COSTA MESA -- It's been over three months, nearly 30 games and exactly one pitching delivery makeover since Ryan Rosenhahn last started for the Orange Coast College baseball team.
If Thursday's performance is a prelude to upcoming outings, the next start will be much, MUCH sooner for the sophomore righty as he helped the Pirates snap their five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win in 10 innings over visiting Cypress.
