COSTA MESA - Tonight's second-round Southern California Regional women's soccer playoff matchup between Orange Coast College and Santa Monica College will take place at 7 p.m. at John Adams Middle School, located next to the SBCC campus.
Both teams are coming off of 1-0 upset wins on Saturday. The 13th seeded Pirates (14-7-1) used a goal by Nicole Huff in the 80th minute to upend No. 4 Ventura, while the 12th seeded Corsairs (9-5-8) topped No. 5 L.A. Pierce on a goal by Lydia Laddon.
"Looking at the matchup, both teams play a very defensive style so I'm expecting a low score tonight," OCC head coach Kevin Smith said. "Their record isn't that strong, but they've played some tough teams and earned some impressive ties along the way, several being scoreless ties. One goal could go a long way out there tonight."
