GLENDORA - The Orange Coast College men's basketball road show made its way to Glendora for the Neil Edwards Tournament, held at Citrus College.
It's been a case of "win by the 3, lose by the 3" for the Pirates in the first two games of the event as they dropped the opener 104-72 to Chaffey on Friday before bouncing back to top Victor Valley 107-88 on Saturday.
Against Chaffey, the Panthers (5-1) came out red-hot from long range, hitting 8-of-16 from 3-point range in the first half en route to a 48-30 lead.
OCC committed 31 turnovers in the game.
The Pirates were led offensively by Steve Cornett, who popped in 20 points. Nicholas Milan added 13 ponits off the bench and Tres Saldivar chipped in 10.
Against Victor Valley, the roles were reversed as OCC (2-3) found the shooting touch from downtown, hitting nine 3s in the first half en route to a 58-point first half.
Using their relentless defense, OCC forced 31 Victor Valley turnovers along the way.
Six different players reached double digits for the Pirates, led by 17 points from Cameron Wise.
Following Sunday's consolation title game against Cuyamaca, the Pirates will return to action on Wednesday at Cerritos, beginning at 6 p.m. before finally playing their home opener against Miramar on Friday at 5 p.m.
