Men's Tennis: Pirates blank Palomar

SAN MARCOS - The Orange Coast College men's tennis team did not lose a single set en route to a 9-0 nonconference win against host Palomar last Thursday.
Charlie Nguyen did not lose a game in his straight-set singles win, while Pat Lam cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win. Other singles wins came from Jon Kroopf (6-2, 6-4), David Stacy (6-3, 7-5), Andy Ong (7-5, 6-3) and Kevin Kordestani (6-1, 6-2).
In doubles, all three teams -- highlighted by Ong and Kordestani's 6-1, 6-0 win -- cruised to victory over the Comets.
The Pirates (4-0) return to action on Tuesday at Saddleback in both team's Orange Empire Conference opener, beginning at 2 p.m.
