Women's Tennis - Pirates continue to roll

COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College women's tennis team wrapped up a successful week by topping Irvine Valley 6-3 on Thursday after faring well at the Pacific Coast Classic last weekend in San Diego.
In the win against the Lasers, Jaleh Mazaheri (5-7, 6-1, 6-2), Evelyn Wallace (6-2, 6-1), K.D. Doran (7-6, 6-0) and Mahtab Davatolhagh (7-5, 6-0) earned singles wins.
In doubles, Mazaheri and Morton (8-6) and Wallace and Doran (8-3) came through with victories for the Pirates, who improve to 6-0 overall, 3-0 in the Orange Empire Conference.
Last weekend at the Pacific Coast Classic, Wallace earned a Division III singles title by topping Sue Hanamure of Rio Hondo, 6-1, 6-1.
Doran earned a Division IV Singles title, defeating Heather Nason of Riverside, 6-2, 6-0, while Davatolhagh earned a Division V title with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Riverside's Vicki Andrade.
In doubles the Pirates earned two titles as Mazaheri and Morton won the Division I crown with a 6-3, 6-2 win and Wallace and Doran claimed the Division II title with a 6-1, 6-3 win.
OCC returns to action on Tuesday at home against Riverside, beginning at 2 p.m.
