CHINO - The Orange Coast College men's golf team lost to Santiago Canyon on Monday, 353-365, in an Orange Empire Conference matchup at El Prado Golf Club.
"We still can do better, but it was a very respectable score for our team," OCC coach Sean Collins said. "We're just trying too hard out there and in golf, the harder you try, the more counter-productive that can be. We just need to relax out there and play the way we can."
Justin Gray shot a 5-under-par 67 to lead the Pirates (1-3). Karl Hamilton and Grahm Brown each fired a 74, while T.J. Vick and Kevin Ritter each shot a 75 to round out the scoring.
OCC will return to action on March 19 when they compete at Glendora, beginning at 10 a.m.
