Women's Tennis: Pirates roll past Riverside

COSTA MESA - In a matchup of two of the top teams in the Orange Empire Conference, the Orange Coast College women's tennis team made quick work of visiting Riverside, taming the Tigers 7-2 on Tuesday.
In singles, Jaleh Mazaheri and Heather Morton returned the favor on a pair of Tigers - Anabel Sanchez and Krista Aja - with straight-set victories. Two weeks ago, Sanchez topped Mazaheri in the finals of the Pacific Coast Classic, while Morton lost to Aja in the semifinals.
Other singles wins for the Pirates include Evelyn Wallace (6-2, 6-2), K.D. Doran (4-6, 7-6, 6-0) and Mahtab Davatolhagh (6-2, 6-3).
In doubles, Mazaheri and Morton again proved victorious over Sanchez and Aja (8-2), while Wallace and Doran posted an 8-2 win over Vanessa Soto and Heather Nason.
The loss drops the Tigers to 9-1, 2-1 in conference)
OCC (7-0, 4-0) will play at Cypress on Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m.
