COSTA MESA – Kissa Kent, a former OCC volleyball player who helped guide the Pirates to back-to-back state championships the past two seasons, has moved on to play at Kansas Wesleyan University, according to OCC head coach Chuck Cutenese.
Kent was a solid reserve player for the Pirates last season and was used as a defensive specialist, where she racked up 115 digs, fifth-highest on the team.
In her two seasons with Coast, Kent racked up 215 digs and helped the Pirates to a 51-2 record and two state titles.
With the signing of Kent, five players from last year’s OCC squad have received scholarships to compete in four-year universities. Others on that list include Joanna Johnson (Alaska-Anchorage), Ashlee Moon (Florida State), Eva Johnson (Hawaii Pacific) and freshman Chelsea Spadaro (Hawaii-Hilo).
