Ryan Bousquet, a former state men's cross country champion for Orange Coast College, died Aug. 27 in a motorcycle accident in Anaheim, according to the Orange County Register.
Bousquet, 25, attended Coast in 2001 and won the individual state title as a member of the OCC men's cross country team. According to authorities, Bousquet was killed when his motorcycle went off the road he was riding on and slammed into a metal guardrail, then into a wooden support post, throwing him off the vehicle. Regarded as one of the nation's top milers in high school, Bousquet graduated from Esperanza High School and attended Arizona State before returning to Southern California to run for Coast. For the past two years, Bousquet has been an assistant coach for Esperanza's cross country team.
