Women's Volleyball: Pirates sweep past Glendale

COSTA MESA - Led by 19 kills from Jacqi Reed, the Orange Coast College women's volleyball team swept past visiting Glendale 30-16, 30-14, 30-24 on Friday night in nonconference action.
Other offensive producers for the Pirates (3-1) include Rebecca Lowe with nine kills, Jessica Roy with seven kills and Deirdre Fiapai with six kills.
Kayla Carter anchored Coast's defense with 17 digs, while the combination of Lowe and Roy combined for five blocks.
Setter Emily Lyon paced the Pirates' offense with 47 assists.
The Pirates return to action on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. when they take on L.A. Trade Tech in the opening day of the Santa Ana Tournament.
