Women's Volleyball: Pirates sweep competition to win Santa Ana Tournament

SANTA ANA - The Orange Coast College women's volleyball team won the Santa Ana Tournament for the fourth year in a row this past weekend at Santa Ana College.
Freshman setter Emily Lyon earned Most Valuable Player honors as she paced the offense throughout the tourney. Outside hitters Jacqi Reed and Deirdre Fiapai were named to the All-Tournament Team.
After sweeping through their pool play, the Pirates topped Saddleback 30-14 in the quarterfinals and Mt. San Antonio 30-19 in the semifinals. From there, OCC defeated the College of the Desert 30-23 to claim the tourney crown.
OCC will return to action on Wednesday at home against Cerritos, beginning at 5 p.m.
