Men's Basketball: Pirates go cold in loss to West L.A.

COSTA MESA -- The Peterson Gym rims were not friendly to the hosts as Orange Coast College lost to visiting West Los Angeles, 64-59 on Friday in nonconference action.
The Pirates (0-4) shot just 30 percent from the floor (21-of-70) and just 27.8 percent in the second half (10-of-36) against the Oilers (3-1).
Shaun Engle led OCC with 13 points, but none of the other 15 Pirate players could reach double figures.
Jerard Moret led West LA with 14 points, while Tim Jackson added 10. The Oilers outscored the Pirates 20-8 from the free-throw line, taking 32 shots from the charity stripe to just 13 for Coast.
OCC will return to action on Friday, Nov. 23 at the Citrus Tournament against Cuyamaca, beginning at 3 p.m.
