FULLERTON -- Another hot-shooting first half by the opposition helped keep the Orange Coast College men's basketball team on the wrong end of Wednesday's 92-61 loss to host Fullerton College.
The Hornets 15-5, 2-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, enjoyed the confines of the Hornets' Nest, hitting 19 of 33 shots in the first half (57.6 percent).
Meanwhile, the Pirates (4-16, 0-3) went just 10-of-27 from the floor (35.7 percent) in the opening 20 minutes and trailed 53-30 at the half. OCC turned the ball over 32 times, leading to 41 FC points.
Offensively, the Pirates were led by Brian Helmuth, who had 13 points and eight rebounds.
OCC returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at home against Riverside, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
