Men's Basketball: Pirates gain extra win after L.A. Southwest announces five forfeits

The South Coast Conference announced today that Los Angeles Southwest will forfeit 5 games due to a clerical error on its Form 1. Los Angeles Southwest self-reported the infraction, and plans to appeal the forfeits. Included in those five forfeits is a game against Orange Coast College back on Dec. 8.
The infraction centers around a student-athlete who attended Los Angeles City, but did not declare it on his Form 1. The student-athlete in question did not participate at Los Angeles City College in 2005. However, Los Angeles Southwest is in violation of CCCAA by-law 1.4 for not listing the time he was a student at LACC.
The five games are: Chaffey (Nov. 8), Victor Valley (Nov. 14), Moorpark (Dec, 7), Orange Coast (Dec. 8) and Pasadena (Dec. 19).
With the win, OCC improves to 6-16 overall.
