Men's Tennis: Pirates slip past El Camino, 5-4

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team improved to 3-0 this year with a hard-fought 5-4 nonconference win over visiting El Camino on Tuesday.
In singles, Landon Draper needed all three sets to hold off ECC's Clark Coble, winning 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. Straight-set wins were posted by Andy Ong (6-2, 6-3) and Kevin Tran (6-0, 6-1).
In doubles, Ong and Kevin Kordestani outlasted the ECC twosome of Keith Boggerd and Sean Novin, 8-6. Also, the OCC doubles team of Gio Villicana and Kevin Saenz posted an 8-3 win over Chris Bohlman and Chris Talosi.
OCC returns to the courts on Tuesday against Orange Empire Conference opponent Fullerton, beginning at 2 p.m. at FCC.
