Women's Tennis: Pirates blank Cuyamaca

COSTA MESA -- It was a clean sweep for the Orange Coast College women's tennis team during Thursday's 9-0 win over visiting Cuyamaca on the Pirates' tennis courts.
Straight-set wins were posted by Brittany Bass (6-3, 6-4), Brittnie Furuvald (6-2, 6-4), Kalin Eshelman (6-0, 6-0), Emily Garcia (6-3, 6-2) and Jasmine Mathieson (6-1, 6-2). Sophomore Evelyn Wallace needed three sets to secure her 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win.
In doubles Wallace and Eshelman blanked Cuyamaca's doubles, 8-0, while Bass and Furuvald and Garcia and Mathieson each lost just one game in their 8-1 wins.
OCC will return to action on Tuesday at home against Fullerton, beginning at 2 p.m.
