Women's Tennis: Pirates shut out El Camino, 9-0

COSTA MESA -- Losing only 17 games the entire afternoon, the Orange Coast College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 shutout win over visiting El Camino on Thursday in a nonconference match-up.
Straight-set wins were posted by Brittany Bass (6-2, 6-0), Brittnie Furuvald (6-2, 6-1), Evelyn Wallace (6-2, 6-1), Kalin Eshelman (6-1, 6-0), Emily Garcia (6-1, 6-0) and Jasmine Mathieson (6-3, 6-0).
In doubles, it was more of the same as Bass and Furuvald (8-0), Wallace and Eshleman (8-1) and Garcia and Mathieson (8-3) each cruised to victory.
Next up for the Pirates (5-0) will be Pacific Coast Classic all weekend long. OCC will return to Orange Empire Conference play on Tuesday at Irvine Valley, beginning at 2 p.m.
