Women's Basketball: Pirates earn Regional's No. 1 seed

COSTA MESA -- Following one of the most dominating regular seasons in school history, the Orange Coast College women's basketball team was announced as the No. 1 seed in Southern California and will remain at home for the duration of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.
The Pirates' first test will come on Saturday night in the Peterson Gym at 7 p.m. when they host the winner of Wednesday's first-round matchup between Santa Monica and Antelope Valley.
Orange Coast finished the regular season with a record of 29-3 overall, 13-1 in the Orange Empire Conference. The Pirates have won back-to-back conference titles for the first time in school history.
Santa Monica finished the regular season with an 18-11 record, co-champions of the Western State Conference's South Division. Antelope Valley wrapped up its regular season with a record of 18-13 and was tied for third in the Foothill Conference.
