Women's Tennis: Pirates topple Riverside to remain unbeaten

RIVERSIDE -- It was another strong performance for the Orange Coast College women's tennis team in Thursday's 8-1 Orange Empire Conference win over host Riverside.
Straight-set wins were posted by Brittany Bass (6-3, 6-2), Brittnie Furuvald (6-3, 6-1), Evelyn Wallace (6-3, 6-2) and Kalin Eshelman (6-0, 6-2). In No. 5 singles, Emily Garcia overcame a first-set loss to prevail, 1-6, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, the teams of Bass/Furuvald (8-4), Wallace/Eshelman (8-2) and Garcia and Jasmine Mathieson (8-4) each came out victorious.
OCC (7-0, 3-0 in conference) will return to action on Tuesday at home against Cypress, beginning at 2 p.m.
