Women's Tennis: Pirates take care of Santa Ana

SANTA ANA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team allowed just four total games to the Santa Ana Dons en route to a convincing 9-0 Orange Empire Conference win on Thursday.
Singles wins were posted by Brittany Bass (6-1, 6-1), Brittnie Furuvald (6-0, 6-0), Evelyn Wallace (6-0, 6-1), Kalin Eshelman (6-0, 6-0), Emily Garcia (6-0, 6-0) and Jasmine Mathieson (won by default).
In doubles, Mathieson and Furuvald (8-1) and Wallace and Eshelman (8-0) cruised to victory, while the third doubles match was awarded to the Pirates via default.
OCC (8-0, 4-0 in conference) will return to action on Wednesday at home against Eastern Arizona, beginning at 2 p.m. The Pirates will resume OEC play on Tuesday at Saddleback, beginning at 2 p.m.
