COSTA MESA -- After helping the Orange Coast College women's tennis team to an undefeated conference record and an overall mark of 18-1, freshman Brittany Bass was named the Orange Empire Conference Player of the Year, as voted on by the OEC coaches.
Bass racked up an 18-1 record in dual singles play and 13-3 in tournament play for an overall singles mark of 31-4.
In doubles, the numbers were just as impressive for Bass, who teamed up with fellow freshman Brittnie Furuvald for the majority of the season. Bass went 14-3 in dual doubles play and 16-2 in tournament play for an overall record of 30-5.
For the entire season, Bass went 61-9, leading the Pirates all the way to the Southern California Regional Finals. Her season continues on Friday as she qualified in singles and doubles for the State Individual Tournament, held in Long Beach.
