Women's Soccer: Pirates find the net in 5-0 win at Saddleback

MISSION VIEJO -- Beth Krikorian and Madison Empting each had a pair of goals to lead the Orange Coast College women's soccer team to a 5-0 Orange Empire Conference win over host Saddleback College on Tuesday.

The offense came early and often for the Pirates (4-4-3, 2-2-1 in conference). Empting's first goal came on a corner kick in the game's eighth minute and was followed four minutes later by Krikorian's first of the game.

Cindy Rodriguez came through with the game's third goal in the 33rd minute, before Krikorian (37th minute) and Empting (40th minute) capped off a furious first half of scoring for the Pirates.

Saddleback (2-5-3, 1-4-0) regrouped and outshot the Gauchos 11-1 in the second half, but Pirate goalkeeper Caitlin Schott came up with eight saves in the final 45 minutes, including one off a penalty kick.

Julia Borkenhagen and Rachel Gist each contributed assists for the Pirates.

The Pirates return to action on Tuesday at LeBard Stadium against Fullerton, beginning at 7 p.m.
