COSTA MESA -- There was no "home cooking" for the Orange Coast College men's basketball team after the Pirates dropped back-to-back home games to Miramar on Thursday (96-70) and Pasadena (64-56) on Friday.
In the loss to the Jets, OCC fell behind early and never could recover. Stefan Thomassen and Chad Delaney each had 13 points for the Pirates, while Brian Helmuth added 12. Thomassen also led the rebounders with seven.
Against PCC, the Pirates (3-6) played a much better all-around game and led midway through the second half by as many as nine at 44-35, but a 21-4 run by the Lancers did the hosts in.
Helmuth and Chad Delaney each had 14 points in the PCC loss, while Martin Whitmore added 11.
Coast returns to action on Wednesday at home against Southwestern, beginning at 5 p.m.
