Men's Tennis: Pirates open season with 8-1 win over El Camino

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team opened the 2009 season with an impressive 8-1 nonconference win over visiting El Camino College on Tuesday.
In singles play, the Pirates were led by No. 3 player Brad Fisher, who did not lose a game in his 6-0, 6-0 victory. Later, he and teammate Brian Nguyen blanked the Warriors' doubles team of Jon Duarte and Tim Kang, 8-0.
Other singles victories were posted by Laurent Minguez (6-1, 6-3), Yannick Lepage (6-0, 6-1), Kevin Saenz (6-1, 6-1) and Marc Cesar (6-1, 6-1).
In doubles, Lepage and Nick Stuart made quick work of El Camino with an 8-0 win, as did Minguez and Felix Demiro (8-2).
OCC returns to action on Thursday at L.A. Pierce at 2 p.m. The Pirates' next home contest will take place on Thursday, Feb. 12 against Palomar, also at 2 p.m.
