Women's Basketball: Pirates rebound with road win against Saddleback

MISSION VIEJO -- The Orange Coast College women's basketball team rebounded from a tough home loss to Irvine Valley with a 62-47 Orange Empire Conference win over Saddleback College on Friday night.
Simone Ibbotson led the Pirates' offense with 21 points, while Casey Gomez finished just short of a triple-double, scoring 10 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Jenna Lujan made the most of her opportunities, scoring 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting.
After shooting just 35 percent from the floor in the first half (11-of-31), the Pirates (19-8, 6-2 in OEC) came alive in the second half, shooting 60 percent (15-of-25) the rest of the way.
OCC returns to the Peterson Gym on Wednesday night against Cypress, beginning at 7:30 p.m.+
