Women's tennis: Coast notches second win over season

COSTA MESA -- After a snag in the nonconference schedule because of the rain, the Orange Coast College women's tennis team returned to the courts and posted a 9-0 win over visiting El Camino College on Tuesday.
It was a dominating performance for the Pirates (2-0) as they lost a grand total of five games for the entire day. Brittany Bass, Melissa Boyer and Nicole Naughton each breezed through 6-0, 6-0 singles victories, while Kalin Eshelman (6-0, 6-1) and Hannah Mancino (6-0, 6-1) also cruised to victory.
In doubles, Bass/Boyer (8-2) and Eshelman/Mancino (8-1) needed little time to earn their victories. OCC's other two wins came by default.
Coast returns to action on Thursday at home against Orange Empire Conference rival Irvine Valley, beginning at 2 p.m.
