Women's Tennis: Pirates shut out Riverside

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team continued its winning ways with a 9-0 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Riverside on Tuesday.
Straight-set wins were posted by Brittany Bass (6-3, 6-1), Melissa Boyer (6-1, 6-3), Nicole Naughton (6-2, 6-0), Kalin Eshelman (6-0, 6-0), Hannah Mancino (6-1, 6-2) and Heather Wong (6-2, 6-0).
In doubles, it was a clean sweep for the Pirates (4-0 overall, 2-0 OEC), thanks to wins by Bass/Boyer (8-2), Eshelman/Mancino (8-0) and Naughton/Julia Garofalo (8-0).
OCC returns to action on Thursday at Cypress College, beginning at 2 p.m.
