LANCASTER -- The Orange Coast College women's basketball team's 2008-09 season came to an end on Friday night with a 64-41 loss to Antelope Valley in the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.
The Pirates (21-11) struggled early and it carried on throughout the game as the Marauders (27-9) jumped out to a 34-24 halftime lead and never looked back.
Known as a team that controls play down low, it was AVC's 3-point shooting that got the Pirates in an early hole as the hosts went a perfect 4-for-4 from downtown in the first half and finished with six treys for the game.
Simone Ibbotson was the lone Pirate in double figures with 12 points and a team-best five rebounds, while Casey Gomez added nine points and three steals.
Florida Siaosi led the Marauders with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Tijera Mathews and Siedah Wilson each added 11 points.
