COSTA MESA -- The injury bug continues to bite down hard on the Orange Coast College women's tennis team as the Pirates dropped a 6-3 Orange Empire Conference decision to visiting Fullerton on Tuesday.
Already without the service of No. 1 singles player Brittany Bass (knee), the Pirates (8-2 overall, 6-2 in OEC) managed a pair of singles wins over Heather Wong (2-6, 7-5, 6-1) and Julia Garofalo (6-4, 5-7, 7-5), while the doubles team of Wong and Hannah Mancinoposted an 8-2 victory.
Fullerton won the remainder of the contests, including a doubles match by injury default.
OCC will return to action on Thursday at home against Glendale (AZ) College in a nonconference matchup, beginning at 2 p.m.
