Women's Tennis: Pirates return to win column with 8-1 win over Tigers

RIVERSIDE -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team returned to its winning ways on Tuesday with an 8-1 Orange Empire Conference win over Riverside.
With the return of No. 3 singles player Kalin Eshelman and the expected return of No. 1 singles player Brittany Bass on Thursday, the Pirates' health is continuing to improve.
Eshelman sparked a solid performance by the Pirates with a 6-1, 6-3 win over RCC's Courtney Seymore.
Other singles wins came from Melissa Boyer (6-2, 6-0), Hannah Mancino (6-3, 6-4), Heather Wong (6-1, 3-6, 6-2) and Julia Garofalo (7-5, 6-3).
In doubles convincing wins were posted by Boyer/Eshelman (8-3), Wong/Mancino (8-3) and Naughton/Garofalo (8-1).
OCC (9-3 overall, 7-2 in OEC) returns to action on Thursday at home against Cypress, beginning at 2 p.m.
